Easter

We woke up to beautiful sunny spring weather on Easter!  It was so nice!  We got ready for 9am church and I attempted a few pictures of Lucy before we left, which was very unsuccessful.  Lucy had a pretty rough day on Easter with a lot of meltdowns and only wanting her mama.  We went to church in Alpine and then came home to put Lucy down for a nap.  When she woke up, we gave her her Easter basket, which she quickly ate as much as possible from, and then melted down when we told her no more before dinner. My dad and grandma joined us at the Martin's home for Easter dinner.  Mark and Janae made a yummy meal of ham, cheesy potatoes, rolls, green beans, and the traditional jello/pear bunnies.  For dessert, we had Magelby's chocolate cake.  It was all delicious and Janae made the table beautiful with pink tulips and cups of candy for everyone.  After dinner, we went outside to enjoy the good weather and let Lucy open her cute Easter basket from grammy and papa Smith.  My mom saw a picture of some tutu baskets and told my dad that he had to make them for the grandkids (he can mail things super cheap and wouldn't even have to mail one for us since we would be out there, which is why he did them).  Lucy loved to run down the big hill in the backyard over and over.  It was her happiest time that day, for sure.  When we came inside, we watched a couple of Easter videos on lds.org.  Finally, right before Lucy's bedtime, I was feeling bad that we didn't get even one good picture of Lucy on Easter, so thankfully Ryan and Janae suggested we try again really quickly.  So, we put her dress and tights and shoes back on, and I put her hair back up in ponytails and we went for.  I'm so glad we did because we were able to get some cute ones of her where she is actually smiling and not crying.  Overall, we had a great Easter and loved spending it with family!

She looks SO big to me in these pictures.  She's definitely a little toddler and not a baby anymore!

Going in to church on Easter.  During church, Ryan pointed out that it was nice to be in a different ward for Easter Sunday because we got to actually sing Easter songs.  Our ward here in Columbus never sings holiday songs and we don't understand why not.

These are the bunnies I mentioned.  It's a pear half on green jello with cloves for the eyes and nose, a marshmallow for a tail, and this year the ears were made out of candy corn (usually it's little pieces of cheese but this was easier and still cute).

 This picture cracks me up!  Lucy couldn't get the food in her mouth quick enough.  Seriously, her whole handful would go in her mouth at once.  We just put yogurt covered raisins in her eggs and she couldn't get enough of them!

 Shortly after that, we made her stop because we were about to eat dinner, and this is the meltdown that pursued:

 And as all of her meltdowns do, it ended in a dramatic collapse to the floor.  Silly girl. :)

Lucy got her first peep from papa. This girl is happy to eat just about anything so I'm not surprised that she liked the peep.

Lucy's favorite part of the day: running down the hill... and falling, getting back up, repeat.

Once we came in, Ryan was trying to lure Lucy upstairs for her bath and he asked if she wanted a piggy back ride up.  When she said yes, he told her to get on his back and this is how she did it.  haha.
