September Martin Visit- BYU game

BYU was playing in Michigan and since it is so close, we decided to go!  The plan was just to drive up and back in the same day, but as it got closer, we decided that might be too packed for the kids and might make the game itself awful to be at.  And if we went the day before, we would get to go to the BYU fireside they always have the night before.  So we found a decent hotel in the area and were so glad we ended up doing that.  We all got some good rest, explored Ann Arbor, ate at the infamous Zingerman's cafe, had fun at the fireside, ate a free breakfast, and got to have a relaxing morning before heading out to the game.  We got to the stadium really early to go to the BYU tailgate, check out the Michigan tailgating atmosphere, watch everyone warm up, say hi to some friends, and just enjoy the atmosphere.  It's a good thing we did that because once the game started, it was all downhill from there.  There was not a single part of the game for BYU fans to cheer at.  They played terrible.  But oh well.  I spent the second half of the game out walking around with a sleeping Claire in my arms.  Even though we lost, it was still fun to go have this experience.  But seriously, better luck next time, BYU.
Lucy's prayer that morning: "and please bless that we can see the cheerleaders at the game..." Ha!  Prayers were answered.
